Malwarebytes premium trial with avast2/29/2024 ![]() Untangle is great at protecting you against dodgy stuff like phishing sites, bad links, virus well worth looking into if you are a bit techy or like learning IT stuff. Caveat - these are business PC’s so they often have a decent hardware firewall or special system called a UTM (unified threat management) lots of options like Sonicwall, Fortigate, the one we use is Untangle, there is a home version about $50 per year that can run on an ancient PC probably one someone is throwing away would do, just needs an extra network card installed, ones on eBay for a fiver will do. Touch wood that triple combo has kept the nasties out so far. We also put a product on to protect against the very specific Ransomware virus/malware type attacks it’s called Crypto-prevent, there is an old free version on CNET but we pay the subs for the latest Pro one. ![]() If you let the trial expire without upgrading, you lose quite a few features. It’s a subtle difference, MBAM protects against spyware and malware, Defender against virus and trojans. When you install the free edition, you get a 14-day trial of Malwarebytes Premium. ![]() Gave up on 3rd party Antivirus once we got everyone onto Win 10, the combo of Defender and MBAM works really well. The freebie is great for cleaning up machines after the fact, it’s reactive, something has to give cos it’s free. it is proactive and will protect you in real time. We have the Business version of MBAM deployed on all the PC’s we manage for clients, a lot, it’s basically the same as Premium i.e. Avast Premier Activation Code and License Key On the Account tab in the UPN. Can always uninstall if you hit probs, create a Restore Point before installing. Premium license key is backed up and reinstated Automatically detect and. Looks a good deal, try it and see, not had any slowdowns over many years using MBAM free and paid versions. But the website says, that the free-version of malwarebytes will also have activated the premium version for the first 14-days (which would result in a parallel real time scan of avast and malwarebytes which I would like to avoid.
